I know this is a busy time of year but I wanted to personally encourage all of you to attend this evening meeting on June 13th. The National Forest Foundation will be sharing important information regarding the Treasured Landscapes campaign and how you can be engaged. I believe there could be many connections to both Chambers of Commerce through increased tourism and opportunities for national attention.The district has also focused restoration efforts connected with the Treasured Landscapes campaign to a specific area to maximize benefits

The NFF is the congressionally chartered nonprofit partner to the U.S.Forest Service. The mission of the NFF is to engage Americans in the care nd enjoyment of their National Forests, our shared public lands. We
support projects and partners that engage people in the stewardship of the National Forest system.
The Methow Ranger District of the Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest has been selected as one of 14 sites around the country as part of the NFF’s *Treasured Landscapes* nationwide conservation campaign. A key goal of this campaign is to highlight unique landscapes of the National Forest System and the critical restoration challenges these special places face.
Brimming with natural values for America's people and communities, our 193-million-acre National Forest System gives us clean air and water, diverse wildlife habitat and abundant outdoor recreation opportunities.
Today, the challenges to the future of all these values are as complex and numerous as the forest ecosystems themselves. From wildfire to invasive species to climate change, many factors threaten the resources we need and the wild places we cherish.
With millions of acres in need of restoration and millions of people unaware of how National Forests enrich their lives, the NFF has set forth on a campaign of stewardship and community engagement. We are working to
restore our damaged forests and restore Americans connection to these treasured public lands.
Join the NFF and the U.S. Forest Service – Methow Ranger District for a
public meeting at The Barn in Winthrop to learn about this partnership, priorities for the district, and share how we can work together for the benefit of the Majestic Methow!
