Public Input Sought on Future Plans for the Cascade Loop Scenic Highway
(Sept. 7, 2012)—The Cascade Loop Association will hold a series of public meetings asking residents for their input on future communications and projects associated with the Cascade Loop Scenic Highway. Guests will be asked for their feedback regarding potential tourism marketing, wayfinding signage, historic markers, informational kiosks, and gateway features. There is no cost to attend the workshops.
Information gathered at the workshops will be included in the Cascade Loop Scenic Highway Corridor Management Plan (CMP), a document that will be compiled by Mandi Roberts, project consultant with local firm, OTAK. The CMP will help guide future Loop marketing and development activities. The completed CMP will potentially allow the Cascade Loop Association to apply for grants to fund select projects identified in the public workshops. The completed CMP may also qualify the Cascade Loop Association to apply for either National Scenic Byway or All-American Road status, designations that carry tangible international marketing benefits for communities along the Loop.
